Waiting to Speak captures the highlights from a study that explored the needs of survivors of sexual violence within the Western Cape, South Africa.

Coalition members, Tearfund and the Province of the Anglican Church in Congo have launched a report which maps the experiences and needs of survivors of sexual violence in eastern DRC.
‘If I speak out, will it change?’ is part of an ongoing programme to empower and mobilise the church and other faith communities to reduce sexual violence in conflict-affected areas in eastern DRC.
It is funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office as part of the United Kingdom’s Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative (PSVI).
Coalition member, Tearfund has recently completed research looking at the social attitudes and practices of men in relation to gender.
The research was completed in Burundi, Rwanda and DR Congo, facilitated by the Anglican Church in each country.

Coalition member, Tearfund commissioned the Unit for Religion and Development, Stellenbosch to research sexual violence in South Africa and the role of the church in relation to this.
Giving recommendations to churches in relation to the community based research in communities in the Western Cape and KwaZulu Natal provinces, this research seeks to give informed and clear recommendations to church leaders and communities to enable to prevention and response of sexual violence.
